Lorraine is a goal orientated lawyer who is known for getting the job done on time with grace and aplomb.

 

She has over 16 years of experience working in the legal industry and loves nothing more than helping her clients achieve successful outcomes.

 

Her technical abilities and commercial expertise are wide-ranging.  She even practiced law in Scotland for many years before the lure of warm sunshine, dazzling beaches and multicultural diversity brought her to the shimmering city of Sydney.

 

Since 2007, Lorraine has practiced property law exclusively.  She knows the law and has the practical experience to back it up.

Experience

 
  • Acting for a national retailer on the leasing portfolio of its 300 stores across multiple jurisdictions and conducting leasing due diligence and negotiation of leasing documents
  • In house legal counsel for several years for a major property developer in relation to managing and mitigating legal risks across its portfolio of 25 residential, commercial and development sites in NSW
  • Handling the property life-cycle on a $720 million estate from the initial acquisition, development, leasing and financing through to managing and settling the off the plan sale contracts
  • Sole principal solicitor in relation to 3 off the plan projects consisting of 450 residential apartments
  • Acting on the leasing portfolio for an international company with over 60 retail and café outlets in healthcare environments (including Royal North Shore Hospital and Westmead Hospital)
  • Successfully representing a major property developer and resolving disputes with Owners Corporations in several defects claims at NSW Civil & Administrative Tribunal
  • Acting for a chain of 200 convenience stores and documenting the retail leasing portfolio in NSW, VIC, QLD and SA
  • Acting for several Sydney based property developers in off the plan residential sales of apartments in 30 sites across NSW
  • Drafting, reviewing and negotiating lease documents for two major shopping centres in Castle Hill and Box Hill with a combined retail area of 20,000 sqm
  • Advising on the legal aspects of a $260 million commercial and residential project at Botany
  • Successfully negotiating and drafting the surrender of several commercial leases in a 12 storey office building to allow for redevelopment
  • Lease advice to various landowners in relation to a Wind Farm in Glen Innes
  • Acting for a successful Chinese-backed developer in the acquisition of sites with a combined deal of $150 million
  • A successful secondment to one of the UK’s largest privately owned waste management and logistics company to provide legal advice in a deal with a value in excess of $140 million
